Secretlab Omega SoftWeave Gaming Chair - Review 2022
Most gaming chairs are upholstered in fake leather (with a few very expensive models bachelor in the existent matter). It's a squeamish cloth, simply textile usually breathes better and tin be more pet-friendly. The textile-upholstered AKRacing Core Series EX impressed us despite its adequately light padding. Now Secretlab is getting in on the game with fabric options. We tested the company's Omega chair in SoftWeave, a gaming model with dense foam, soft textile, and a very comfy and supportive feel for $349.99. It's business firm, comfortable, and well-made, though we still similar SecretLab's slightly bigger, slightly more plush imitation leather Titan a bit more.
Material and Foam
The Omega chair is available in Charcoal (black) or Cookies & Cream (black and low-cal grey) versions (faux leather models are actually available for a bit less, at $329). We tested the Cookies & Cream finish, which looks attractive but lacks any of the vivid, colorful
When I first heard from Secretlab that its SoftWeave chairs were "inspired by streetwear," I pictured a chair made of heavy denim. Fortunately, the SoftWeave fabric is much softer to the touch than denim, fabricated of a 350GSM (grams per square meter) curt-yarn blended fabric. This means the material is very dense, which forth with the aforementioned excellent stitching we saw on the Titan, indicates the chair can stand upwards to extensive utilise. It's markedly more than dense and feels more durable than the mesh-like cloth used on the AKRacing Core Series EX.
The Secretlab Titan earned our Editors' Choice for its supple faux leather and very generous, dumbo foam padding. The SoftWeave textile on the Omega certainly feels soft, and underneath the padding doesn't disappoint. The back and seat have dense, solid cream, though the dorsum isn't quite as thoroughly padded equally the Titan is—the Omega is missing the adaptable lumbar support wheel that can brand where the chair hits the small of your back harder or softer.
Like most gaming chairs, the Omega comes with headrest and lumbar support pillows. These are some of the nicest chair pillows nosotros've felt, thanks to a soft velour cover and plush memory foam. The Titan comes with a similarly excellent headrest
Our just existent complaint is that, while the headrest pillow has an elastic strap for attaching information technology securely to the back of the chair, the lumbar pillow has no strap to concur it in place and must often exist flipped upwardly and positioned when you sit down down.
Adjustments and Condolement
The usual gaming chair customizations are present hither, including the air cylinder height aligning and whole-chair tilt adjustment y'all find on function chairs. The armrests can be moved upwards, downwardly, forrard, and backward to fit comfortably under your arms, and the chair dorsum can recline generously.
